Well it’s been a while since I have written a trifle blog, but I experienced some amazing trifles this Xmas season that I wanted to share with you. The first is a new trifle from a friend who has previously had her trifle featured on my blog. This Xmas, Nicole has served her traditional trifle in individual glasses. This added a special flare to what is already an amazing trifle combination. This years edition included a garnish of fresh mint which gave a fresh hit as well as a citrus biscotti , yum.

The second trifle experience I must share is thanks to my friend Rob who has been keen for me to try the Messina ” Christmas Coma” trifle for a few years now. Boy, now I know why! I have generally shyed away from prepared or bought trifles, but this my friends is an exception that I encourage you to try. Only problem is, these trifles are often sold out so they are not easy to come by. The trifle is presented beautifully, full of bright colour and is a glass bowel in a Messina cooler bag. With the trifle, you also receive a bottle of Messina rum custard to pour over your trifle. The combination is to die for. As you make your way through the layers, the standout flavours for me were the Macadamia nuts crunch, mango and passion fruit and best of all the silky rum custard. I urge you to make sure you have plenty of people to share this with ( package recommends about 20) because if you are alone, you will likely finish of this Morrish trifle on your own.
